Kelly Bennette
Kelly Bennette is a native of Groves, TX. and attended school in the Port Arthur I.S.D., graduating from Thomas Jefferson high school. He attended Lamar University in Beaumont, TX., majoring in music education. His principal instrument is tuba and his tuba instructor was Robert Culbertson. Mr. Bennette played in the Beaumont Symphony Orchestra for nine years as well as the Lamar Faculty Brass Quintet for six years. He has taught in band, elementary music, choir, elementary P.E., world geography and music theory in East Texas for many years. In addition to the standard band instruments, Mr. Bennette also plays banjo, penny whistle, recorder, fiddle, piano, accordian, bass guitar and bagpipes. Some of his recent compositions include 'The Holy Grail Mass' for choir and organ, 'The Red Panda March', '1st Louisiana Infantry March', 'Red River Rebels March', 'Livingston Community Band March', 'Symphony no. 1 in D Major' for orchestra and 'Tsunami' for concert band
