Standard Concert Band Parts with Conductor Score
The Garden was commissioned by the 2019 Waldron High School Band, Waldron, AR, Kevin Beirne - director. It was written to honor Mr. Eddie Harrison, who served 43 years as a teacher in the Waldron School District and 8 years as a member of the Waldron School Board. One of Mr. Eddie Harrisons favorite hymns was In the Garden, which is sung in various Christian churches all across the world. This composition is based on that familiar melody.
A few technical notes:
1. The oboe part will be derived from the flute part and edited for range.
2. Bassoon may double the baritone or trombone 2.
3. The baritone saxophone part will be derived from the tuba part and edited for range.
4. The bell part may be doubled on marimba and/or vibraphone as personel allows.
It has been an honor and a privilege to work on this piece and I would like to thank Mr. Beirne for the opportunity to write such a meaningful composition for the Waldron, AR community.
